Innovation is Invitation
September 7th (10:00 am MST)
Innovation is Invitation – CEU – Jill Moore
Course description
The conversation surrounding inclusive play space design has grown tremendously since its beginnings. As foundational knowledge around inclusive design and disability has grown, so has the conversation around intentional design choices. This session takes an in depth look at communities around the globe creating innovative and creative spaces. They’re asking how to create intentional ramp play; how to design for deaf and hard of hearing populations; what to do for medically compromised or visually impaired individuals. We understand that innovation means invitation, and the next step in play is to truly invite everyone to make our spaces that much more meaningful.
We are authorized to provide .1 CEUs, 1 LUs and 1 PDHs, which meet Health, Safety and Welfare credits. We also offer AIA credit including nano units. After this 60-minute Learning Academy session, you’ll have an understanding of the following learning objectives:
- How to establish current lines of thought and design around disability and how to improve existing inclusive design.
- Practicing inclusion as a tool and universal design as a strategy.
- Innovating designs for a broader range of diagnoses to make experiences more meaningful, and examine design choices more in depth.
- How to articulate the maximum reach of equitable solutions; good design contains solutions that will support everyone.
