Family-founded in 1991 by Farell Smith, Exerplay was built on a simple belief: that communities deserve outdoor spaces designed with care, quality, and longevity in mind. Around 2015, the Gardiner family carried that legacy forward, deepening our roots across the region and expanding our reach to serve even more parks, schools, and neighborhoods. In 2025, Exerplay took our most meaningful step yet – becoming an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), meaning the 45 people who design, install, and service your spaces are now owners too.

Our in-house designers don’t just make commercial playground equipment look good. They ask the questions that matter: Does this space draw kids in? Does it challenge them? Does it spark imagination? Lifetime Service & Maintenance
Our commitment doesn’t end at project completion. We honor the highest warranties in the industry and provide retrofitting, repairs, and safety maintenance training for the life of your equipment.
Installation
We handle every aspect of installation and ongoing play equipment services, including providing certified safety inspections, along with a full range of safety surfacing options to address accessibility and budget needs.
Purchasing Co-Ops
We participate in many purchasing contracts and co-ops so you can buy for quality. Ask us which programs apply to your organization.
